Throw Back Thursday - Old Chaos Army
Well, here is a unit of my Warriors of Chaos. I painted these guys maybe over 5+ years ago. I can't even remember. I'd say more. They are still a favorite unit of mine for Fantasy battles.
Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for the comment. So here is what I remember:
I used all GW (Citadel Paints). Back then, their paints were not as good as now. NONE of their base paints, and all that jazz. I used their jars of paint and their old INK jars. I did however heavily dilute their inks to get that subdued look and just enough grime but not too dirty.
The animal fur capes I dry brushed heavily again using all Citadel paints. I can NOT remember those colors in full, but:
Bestial Brown, "something" Vomit (cant remember full name), boltgun metal, Chaos Black, Slannesh Pink, some purple color they had, metal colors they had and their inks (brown, black and sepia or what ever it was called).
After all that, I sprayed a light coat of satin clear coat and after it dried, a coat of Figure Flat by Floquil.
That is all I remember. Hope that was helpful enough. Sorry I couldn't be more precise.
Thanks a lot for the help. I did a tester of the pink the other day but it just didn't turn out as I had hoped, so I think I'll give it another go. The rest of it seems straight forward enough - fairly easy to accomplish but looks very good.
Absolutely love these guys. I realised it was a long time ago but would it be possible for a short run down on how you painted them?
